What paella party catering costs

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Parking and unloading
  • How many guests are eating
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • How many staff you need

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We’ll send you a quote.

Details that help

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • The venue or postcode

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. To send your details, use our quote form.

Tapas

Bravas, tortilla, croquetas and more to start.

Chicken & chorizo paella

Chicken and chorizo is a crowd-pleaser, though it is not traditional in Valencia.

Is live paella right for your party?

Unlike a barbecue, paella is ready at once, so everyone eats together. And there is no host stuck at the grill. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Why us?

  • Crockery and waiting staff if you need them
  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan

Questions from Paley Street

Do you come out to small places like Paley Street?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Could we have live paella in Ockwells Park?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Do you cook it at the event?

It is. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

Do you come to Paley Street?

Yes, we do. We cook at events in Paley Street and across Windsor and Maidenhead. Send us your date to check availability.

Is halal food available?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and we will cook a separate pan.

How many different paellas?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

On request. Crockery or disposables are available.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, Windsor and Maidenhead included. Find your area.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

The process

A typical event goes like this: we arrive, set up and start cooking, your guests watch the rice cook, and we serve straight from the pan when you are ready to eat. At midsummer, it’s light in Paley Street until about 9:25pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. We check your date and the space.
  2. You pick paellas, tapas and desserts.
  3. We set up the burners and start the sofrito.
  4. In goes the rice, and guests gather.
  5. We serve hot and tidy our area afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Leave space around the cooking area
