Paella catering near Bowcombe

About our paella catering in Bowcombe

A couple of different pans covers everyone: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Each is cooked separately, so diets are easy to manage. For milestone birthday parties and christenings and family gatherings, we can cook chicken and chorizo paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana and more.

Somewhere as small as Bowcombe, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. Your quote spells out exactly what’s included: menu, staff, crockery and anything else you choose.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

What happens on the day

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. Evenings in Bowcombe stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

How to prepare

  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

FAQs for Bowcombe

Can you cook near the sea around Bowcombe?

Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Is Bowcombe too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Is halal food available?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and we will cook a separate pan.

Do you cook it at the event?

It is. We arrive with everything we need and cook it there and then, serving it hot from the pan.

Is paella enough as a main?

Yes. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main.

Do you bring everything you need?

All cooking kit comes with us. Let us know what your venue has, like tables or crockery.

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a picture.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Catering for every guest

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To get it right:

  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Add a dietary question to your invitations
  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down

The rice takes about 20 minutes once it goes in, so we start it at the right moment for your event. If plans change, tell us and we’ll adjust.

Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further.
