Paella catering for America Ground events
Live paella or other catering?
Next to a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, thanks to separate pans. Service from the pan keeps queues moving. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We will suggest options to suit your budget.
Why book with us

- No hidden extras in your quote
- Fast service from the pan

About our paella catering in America Ground
Paella is generous food: giant pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It turns a meal into an occasion. For staff parties and work lunches and retirement and leaving parties, we’ll put together a menu of vegetable paella, paella Valenciana and black rice and more.
A place like America Ground frequently has a hall, a club or a pub garden nearby; any can work for paella, with permission and somewhere outside to cook. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.

The process
Watching it cook is half the fun. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring. Around midsummer it stays light in America Ground until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- Send us your date, numbers and venue.
- We plan a menu that covers every diet.
- We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
- The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
- Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Planning the cooking area
Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:
- Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Catering for every guest
Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:
- Count adults and children separately
- Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
- Mention any other courses or food
- Confirm allergies by email
The rice takes about 20 minutes once it goes in, so we start it at the right moment for your event. If plans change, tell us and we’ll adjust.
Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.

There is nothing hidden: the quote reflects:
- How many courses

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

America Ground: your questions answered
Is America Ground close to London?
Roughly 53 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
Can you cook near the sea around America Ground?
Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.
Can you cook indoors?
Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.
Can you feed plenty of people?
It’s ideal. Large pans and fast service from the pan make it well suited to crowds.
Which paellas suit our guests?
Most events choose two or three: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. Our menu lists the options.
Can you serve drinks?
Sangria, yes. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.
How much is live paella catering?
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a price.
Which areas do you serve?
London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including America Ground.
