Festival paella catering near America Ground
How our festival paella catering works in America Ground
A paella stall covers several diets at once: meat, seafood and vegan pans side by side. That simplifies your food line-up. We cook churros, vegan paella and seafood paella, and we are often booked for country shows and open days.
In America Ground, one trader covering most diets keeps it simple. A paella stall does that. We serve straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and a queue moves quickly.

Should I cook it myself?
Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

America Ground events: pitches and permissions
America Ground is about 1 mile east of St Leonards, in East Sussex. For festival paella catering in America Ground, we plan around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and paella cooked live on the day. America Ground is one of 289 places in East Sussex where we cook. Our nearest city page is Brighton, about 31 miles away.
For visitors coming by rail, America Ground has its own station, Hastings station. If you’re organising a summer fair or fundraiser for a school such as University School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. The coast is within about a mile of America Ground, so for seaside events we plan a sheltered pitch, and seafood paella sells well by the sea.

Planning the cooking area
Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but a few things matter:
- Vehicle access to the pitch at set-up and break-down
- Spacing from tents and other structures
- Details of power, water and waste arrangements
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Planners, venues and businesses
If you are organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.
Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.
America Ground questions
Can you cook near the sea around America Ground?
Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.
Can you cook in Linton Gardens?
Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.
Can you bring crockery?
We can. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.
Will there be enough food?
We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Let us know about any other food. Our guide to portions explains more.
What about pudding?
Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.
Can you trade at our festival or fair?
Tell us about your event, and we will reply with our availability and what we need.
How long does the paella take?
We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
Do you need power?
Tell us what’s available at the pitch and we’ll confirm what we need.
Paella compared with other options
Not every trader covers vegans. A vegan paella pan sits alongside the others. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

The process
Service is quick: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Summer events in America Ground have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:00pm by late September, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- We check your dates.
- We agree what we will serve and where.
- Burners and pans go up.
- The first pans are ready as visitors arrive.
- We serve, then clear the pitch at the end.
Preparing for the day
- Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
- Have a level space ready for the pans
- Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
