How our wedding paella catering works in Weald

Evening paella is a favourite: hot, filling and served quickly from the pan, so evening guests are fed and the dancing carries on. On the menu are table tapas, evening paella and canapé tapas, and typical bookings are for wedding receptions after a small ceremony and weddings with lots of dietary needs.

Near Weald, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. That is exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Let us know about access and ground. Everything is cooked from scratch at your wedding, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

A closer look at the menu

Evening paella

Evening paella is hot, filling and fun.

Paella wedding breakfast

Two or three paellas, served from the pans or brought to the tables.

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Tell us about suppliers who need feeding
  • Decide whether guests queue at the pans or are served at the tables
  • Tell us when speeches will be
  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect

Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, timed for after the first dance.

Canapé tapas with the drinks reception keep guests going during photos.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

How it works

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Guests generally gather round to watch while it cooks. At midsummer, sunset in Weald is about 9:30pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 9:00pm in late May and 7:10pm in late September.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. We clear our cooking area, and staff stay as agreed.

Weald questions

Is Weald close to London?

Roughly 64 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

What happens if it rains?

We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We plan for rain with you in advance.

What about supplier meals?

Yes. Add your suppliers to the final numbers.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

Can you liaise with the venue coordinator?

Of course. We’ll speak to your venue about access and timings.

Do you cover Weald?

Yes, we do. Weald is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

Paella compared with other options

If you are weighing up paella against a traditional menu, think about your venue, your guests’ diets and the feel of the day. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.
