Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Questions from Warmlake
Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Michael?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.
Is Warmlake too small for live paella?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.
Can you provide dessert?
We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind when you ask for a quote.
Do you come to Warmlake?
Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Warmlake and the rest of Kent. For a quote, use our quote form.
What happens if it rains?
We cook under cover, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.
What does wedding paella catering cost?
We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a price.
Who clears up?
Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.
Do you do canapés and evening food too?
We can. We can do canapés, tapas, the wedding breakfast, evening food and desserts.
Organising for someone else?
If you’re organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.
If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.
Dishes our guests love
Canapé tapas
Canapé tapas fill the gap before the meal, without spoiling appetites.
Desserts
A sweet finish: churros, crema catalana or your wedding cake.
Why live cooking beats a buffet
Buffets can mean food sitting for a while. Paella is served hot from the pan when guests are ready. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Step by step
Service is quick: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. When service is finished, we pack down. In Warmlake, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:00pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is typically served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 3:50pm.
- Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
- We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
- Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
- We cook live on the day and serve every course on cue.
- We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.
Preparing for the day
- Let us know the timings for the day
- Tell us where to park and unload
- Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
