Wedding paella catering in Walter's Green

How our wedding paella catering works in Walter's Green

A paella wedding makes mixed diets simple: every paella is cooked separately, so vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests eat the same kind of meal as everyone else. Typical bookings include evening food for extra guests and weddings in a marquee or garden, with canapé tapas, evening paella and a paella wedding breakfast.

A wedding in a small place like Walter's Green often means a field, a barn or a family garden. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen needed, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

What’s in the pans

Table tapas

Bowls and boards set down in the middle of each table, such as patatas bravas, croquetas and Manchego.

Evening paella

A second round of paella for the evening, quick to serve and filling.

Paella compared with other options

Food trucks serve one order at a time, which can mean long queues at a wedding. Paella is served quickly to many guests. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

How it works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. In Walter's Green, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is usually served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Before we arrive

Diets, allergies and planning

Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Put us in touch with your venue
  • Choose pan-side or table service
  • Tell us when speeches will be
  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers

Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, typically timed after the first dance.

Add sangria, or bar staff to serve your own drinks.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Before you choose a spot

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

What wedding paella catering costs

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • How many staff you need
  • Timings and hours

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Details that help

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • What the venue already provides
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Where the event is

We quote for each event separately, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, use our quote form.

Questions from Walter's Green

Do you cater in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll follow the site rules.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Peter?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can you do our whole wedding menu?

Yes. We can do canapés, tapas, the wedding breakfast, evening food and desserts.

Can you cook halal paella?

We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we’ll cook a separate pan.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Walter's Green.

What if our speeches run late?

We adapt. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and time the rice so it is served at its best.

How much paella per person?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Tell us what else is being served. See how much paella per person.
