Wedding paella catering for Fordcombe events

How our wedding paella catering works in Fordcombe

Paella as evening food is popular: it is hot, filling and quick to serve, so the party keeps going. Popular choices include table tapas, Spanish desserts and a paella wedding breakfast, and we are regularly asked to cater farm and barn venues and evening food for extra guests.

Near Fordcombe, weddings are often in fields, barns or gardens. That is exactly where live paella shines: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

How we price wedding paella catering

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • The paellas you choose
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Guest numbers

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • What the venue already provides
  • The date and rough timings
  • The venue or postcode
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. To start, fill in our quote form.

Common questions in Fordcombe

Is Fordcombe too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Peter?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

How soon do we need to book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

Is paella smart enough for a wedding?

With the right presentation, it feels special: canapés, table tapas, good crockery and staff serving the tables.

Do you offer halal options?

Yes. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in a separate pan.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

How it works

A typical event goes like this: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it is served hot from the pan at the agreed time. Golden-hour photos in Fordcombe at midsummer come around 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Tell us when speeches will be
  • Put us in touch with your venue
  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect

We keep in touch with your venue coordinator or toastmaster on the day, so you don’t have to.

Spanish desserts, or your own wedding cake, finish the meal.

Organising for someone else?

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Food vans can create long queues. Paella is served quickly to many guests. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Why Fordcombe hosts choose us

  • Catering across Kent, including Fordcombe
  • A clear, itemised quote

  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
