Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Prices and what affects them

There’s nothing hidden: the quote reflects:

  • Whether you need crockery
  • The paellas you choose
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Waiting and bar staff

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Planners, venues and businesses

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

How the day works

From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your wedding. Any tapas or canapés are served first while the paella cooks. In Springhead, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:00pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is normally served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and ideas.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue, including speeches and photos.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Check the venue allows live cooking
