Wedding paella catering near Norton Green

Wedding paella catering in Norton Green, cooked live

The smell of saffron and garlic drifting across a garden or barn gets guests excited about the meal. We are often asked to cater farm and barn venues and blessings and vow renewals, serving table tapas, canapé tapas and a paella wedding breakfast.

A wedding in a small place like Norton Green often means a field, a barn or a family garden. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. We serve straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and service is quick once it’s ready.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Diets, allergies and planning

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Pick a serving style
  • Tell us when speeches will be
  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Include any suppliers you’re feeding

Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, generally timed after the first dance.

We can provide crockery and waiting staff.

Norton Green: your questions answered

Can you cook near the sea around Norton Green?

Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.

Do you come out to small places like Norton Green?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you serve drinks?

Yes, sangria. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

Can we try the food first?

Tell us you’d like a tasting when you enquire, and we will talk you through it.

Do you offer halal options?

Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and it is cooked separately.

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a picture.

What about supplier meals?

Yes. Add your suppliers to the final numbers.

How much paella per person?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

Working with your venue

About the dishes

Desserts

A sweet finish: Spanish desserts or your own cake.

Evening paella

Evening paella is hot, filling and fun, especially after a few hours on the dance floor.

How we price wedding paella catering

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Guest numbers
  • How many staff you need

Larger events normally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What we need to know

The more we know about your wedding, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Where the event is
  • What the venue already provides

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. To send your details, use our quote form.

The process

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. In Norton Green, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is usually served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 4:05pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and ideas.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. We clear our cooking area, and staff stay as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches

How to get a price

Planning help

What we need at the venue

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We look for:

  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • A separate open-sided gazebo if the meal is in a marquee
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

Norton Green is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we’ll plan the journey.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.
