You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Wedding paella catering in Normandy, cooked live

Mixed diets are easy at a paella wedding: every paella is cooked separately, so vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests eat the same kind of meal as everyone else. For destination-style celebrations at home and marquee and garden weddings, we can cook Spanish desserts, a paella wedding breakfast and canapé tapas for your guests.

There’s something special about a country wedding near Normandy, and paella cooking in the open air adds to it. Plan access and cover in case of rain. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Our caterer checklist

For planners, venues and organisers

Organising a club, school or community event in Normandy? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

Planning the cooking area

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • A separate open-sided gazebo if the meal is in a marquee
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we offer

  • Paella wedding breakfast
  • Sangria & bar staff
  • Dessert

The menu, dish by dish

Canapé tapas

Canapé tapas fill the gap before the meal, without spoiling appetites.

Table tapas

Bowls and boards set down in the middle of each table, from bravas to croquetas and Manchego.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP cards
  • Include any suppliers you are feeding
  • Decide whether guests queue at the pans or are served at the tables
  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect

Evening guests can be served from fresh pans later on, timed for after the first dance.

Sangria and bar staff can be added.

The process

When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That’s how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. Your guests will smell it before they see it. At midsummer, sunset in Normandy is about 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue, including speeches and photos.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve every course on cue.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Tell us when you want to eat
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Normandy questions

What’s the nearest station to Normandy for guests?

Wanborough station, about 0.7 miles south of the centre.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Mark: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We will agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

How many different paellas?

Typically two or three, so every guest has a choice. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.

Do you come to Normandy?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Normandy. To check your date, send us your details through our quote form.

Do you do starters?

Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Can you cater the whole day?

Any part of the day, or all of it, from the drinks reception to the evening.

Paella compared with other options

Buffets can mean food sitting for a while. Paella is served hot from the pan. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

What you get with us
