Live paella party catering in Normandy

How our paella party catering works in Normandy

Mixed groups are easy: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood pan and a vegetable or vegan pan side by side. A plain chicken paella keeps children happy. Typical bookings include big birthdays and neighbourhood celebrations, with tapas, chicken and chorizo paella and churros.

A country party near Normandy is perfect for paella: cooked in the open and served hot. Plan a gazebo in case of rain. Your quote spells out exactly what’s included: menu, staff, crockery and anything else you choose.

Why choose live paella in Normandy?

Cooking yourself saves money but costs you the party. Book us and you are free to enjoy it. Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

Hosting a paella party in Normandy

Normandy is about 4 miles east of Aldershot, in Surrey. Anywhere in GU3, we can cook for your guests. We cook in all 395 towns and villages in Surrey, from the larger towns to small villages.

For guests coming by train, Wanborough station is about 0.7 miles away. Christenings and naming days frequently start at a local church such as Church of St Mark, with a paella lunch at home or in a hall afterwards.

We cater parties across the GU3 postcode area and the streets around it. Local streets include Manor Farm Close, Guildford Road and Milton Close; a party at home on any of them works well with live paella. For parties just outside Normandy, we cover Willey Green (1 mile east), Flexford (1 mile south), Christmas Pie (1 mile south), Wyke (1 mile west) and Wanborough (2 miles south). We also cook in nearby towns such as Guildford (4 miles east), Woking (6 miles north-east), Camberley (6 miles north-west), Farnham (6 miles south-west), Egham (13 miles north-east) and Walton-on-Thames (14 miles north-east).

A little further out are Ash Museum (2.1 miles west) and Guildford Hospital (2.6 miles east). Not far away are Hog's Back and Ash Ranges.

  • Local pubs include Duke of Normandy pub (0.5 miles east)

FAQs for Normandy

Is Normandy close to London?

Roughly 30 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Mark: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How far ahead should we book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates book up first, so contact us early.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

Do you cater for children?

Of course. A simple chicken paella goes down well with children. Tell us how many children are coming.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, while the rice is cooking.

Can you supply crockery?

Yes, if you need them. Tell us what you need and we will include it in the quote.

How far in advance should we book?

The sooner the better, but it is always worth asking. We’ll check availability right away.

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Add a diet question to the invitation
  • Give separate numbers for children
  • Warn the neighbours
  • Put out bins for general waste and recycling

When service is finished, we pack down quietly, so the party carries on.

A jug of sangria sets the tone, with an alcohol-free version for drivers and children.

Planners, venues and businesses

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If you’re booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

How the day works

We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we hold the paella at the right stage so it is still served fresh. At midsummer, it’s light in Normandy until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. You tell us the date, address, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a menu suggestion and a clear price.
  3. On the day, we set up and get cooking.
  4. The paella cooks while your guests chat, with any tapas served first.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan, then pack down.

Preparing for the day

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Check the venue allows live cooking

DIY paella versus live catering

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

What affects the price in Normandy

There are no hidden charges: the price is based on:

  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many staff you need
  • Guest numbers
  • Distance and access to the venue

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Roughly how many adults and children

  • A photo of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: give us the basics about your party, and we’ll make suggestions. Start when you are ready: use our quote form.
