How our paella party catering works in Christmas Pie

The smell of paella cooking is the best party invitation. Guests gather round, glass in hand, to watch. We cook mixed paella, churros and chicken and chorizo paella, and we are regularly asked to cater garden get-togethers and family reunions.

Near Christmas Pie, parties are frequently in gardens or fields. Let us know about access, and we’ll plan the set-up. Everything is cooked from scratch at your party, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

Before you choose a spot

Before the day, we will agree where we cook. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • A quick photo of the spot helps us plan
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

  • Whether VAT is included

12 questions to ask before you book

Catering for every guest

Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Give separate numbers for children
  • Ensure most people can sit to eat
  • Make sure children stay back from the pans
  • Warn the neighbours

When you are ready to eat, we serve straight from the pan.

We can bring plates, cutlery and staff.

How we price paella party catering

There is nothing hidden: the price is based on:

  • How many courses
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many guests are eating

The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Getting an accurate quote

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The date and time of the event
  • The courses you’d like

To get a price, fill in our quote form. Tell us about your party in Christmas Pie, and we will put together a menu and price.

For planners, venues and organisers

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Christmas Pie? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

How the day works

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. A summer party in Christmas Pie stays light until about 9:20pm at midsummer, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. It starts with your date, address, numbers and any diets.
  2. You get a menu suggestion and a clear price.
  3. On the day, we set up and get cooking.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve from the pan and clear our cooking area away when we’re done.

Getting ready for the day

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches

How to get a price

Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

Your questions about paella party catering in Christmas Pie

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Bartholomew?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you come out to small places like Christmas Pie?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

How soon do we need to book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

Is my garden big enough?

Most gardens are fine. We need level ground, clearance and access. Send us a picture.

What does paella party catering cost?

We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

What if the weather’s bad?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will talk it through before the day.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.

What about pudding?

Yes. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana.
