What we need at the venue

If a space is not suitable, we will tell you, and help find another spot. The main points are:

  • A separate open-sided gazebo if the meal is in a marquee
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed

For somewhere as remote as Foreland Fields, early notice helps us plan the trip.

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

FAQs for Foreland Fields

Is Foreland Fields too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

We’re having a ceremony at Saint Luke: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How much is live paella catering?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Do you do vegan paella?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Can you cook halal paella?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and it’s cooked separately.

How long do you need on site?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana.

What do you need at the venue?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

Step by step

Your timings come first. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we hold the paella at the right stage so it’s still served fresh. At midsummer, sunset in Foreland Fields is about 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:10pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day

Planning help

Planning for every diet

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one
  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Tell us about suppliers who need feeding

The pans are often set up where guests can see them, which makes a lovely backdrop for photos.

We can provide crockery and waiting staff.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

Choosing between paella and a traditional menu?, think about your venue, your guests’ diets and the feel of the day. Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you can choose exactly what you need.

What you get with us

  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • We cover Foreland Fields and the whole of the Isle of Wight

Why choose wedding paella catering in Foreland Fields?

If you’re planning any of these, we can help:

  • Destination-style celebrations at home
  • Civil partnerships and vow renewals
  • Parties after a register office wedding
  • Barn and farm weddings

Couples marrying at local churches such as Saint Luke often hold the reception nearby: we can be cooking during the photos, so it is ready as guests arrive.
