How our wedding paella catering works in Farmoor
Mixed diets are easy at a paella wedding: every paella is cooked separately, so every guest gets a proper hot main. Whether it is receptions after an intimate ceremony and weddings with mixed diets, we will put together a menu of canapé tapas, a paella wedding breakfast and evening paella and more.
Rural weddings around Farmoor have a magic of their own, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan for access and a wet-weather cover. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

The process
When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. In Farmoor, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is normally served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.
- We start with your date, venue, numbers and ideas.
- Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
- Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
- On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
- We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.
How to prepare
- Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
- Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
- Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking

DIY paella versus live catering
Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.
Diets, allergies and planning
Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:
- Tell us when speeches will be
- Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers
- Ask about your date as soon as you have one
- Choose pan-side or table service
If speeches or photos run over, tell us, and we’ll adjust the cooking so it’s still served fresh.
Spanish desserts, or your own wedding cake, finish the meal.

FAQs for Farmoor
How far is Farmoor from London?
Roughly 57 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
Do you come out to small places like Farmoor?
No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.
Can we try the food first?
Ask us when you enquire and we will explain the options.
What happens if it rains?
We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.
What does wedding paella catering cost?
Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.
Do you do vegan paella?
Yes. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.
Do you offer halal options?
We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and we’ll cook a separate pan.
Do you cater for coeliacs?
We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.
What we need at the venue
The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
- A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it
- Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.
What we offer
- Dessert
- Table tapas
- Sangria & bar staff
- Canapé tapas
- Paella wedding breakfast
- Evening paella
Live paella or other catering?
A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a large team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission, and suits a relaxed style. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.
Why us?
- No hidden extras in your quote
- Live cooking, not reheated food
- Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
- Food that becomes part of the entertainment
