Wedding paella catering for Enslow events

How our wedding paella catering works in Enslow

Mixed diets are easy at a paella wedding: each paella has its own pan, so every guest gets a proper hot main. For weddings with lots of dietary needs and weddings in a marquee or garden, we’ll put together a menu of Spanish desserts, a paella wedding breakfast and evening paella for your guests.

A wedding in a small place like Enslow often means a field, a barn or a family garden. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it’s ready.

FAQs for Enslow

What’s the nearest station to Enslow for guests?

Tackley station, about 1.5 miles north of the centre.

We are having a ceremony at Church of Holy Cross: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.

When do you arrive?

We get there in good time to set up. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll help you decide the split.

Is the paella gluten-free?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.

What space do you need to cook?

Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a photo.

Do you work with our venue?

Of course. We will speak to your venue about access and timings.

Prices and what affects them

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • How many courses
  • The number of people

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and rough timings
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • What the venue already provides

We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. You can fill in our quote form.

The process

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. Golden-hour photos in Enslow at midsummer come around 9:30pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 9:00pm, and in late September about 7:10pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

Getting a price

About the dishes

Desserts

To finish: Spanish desserts or your own cake.

Canapé tapas

Canapé tapas fill the gap before the meal.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Include any suppliers you’re feeding
  • Pick a serving style
  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Give us separate day and evening numbers

We clear our cooking area away afterwards; any staff stay as long as agreed.

Add sangria, or bar staff to serve your own drinks.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

Food vans can create long queues. Paella pans serve many guests quickly. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Planning the cooking area

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • An open-sided catering gazebo next to the marquee
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.
