Paella catering in Enslow, cooked live

Watching it cook is part of the experience. People drift over as the sofrito sizzles and the rice turns gold, and the aroma does the rest. Typical bookings include engagement and anniversary parties and retirement celebrations, with mixed paella, black rice and vegan paella.

In a small place like Enslow, events are generally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. Timings are planned around your event, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

How it works

Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell generally draws people over. Around midsummer it stays light in Enslow until about 9:30pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Dishes our guests love

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It’s the pan people photograph.

Black rice

Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, and is normally served with alioli. It makes a dramatic second seafood pan.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Questions from Enslow

Is Enslow close to London?

About 57 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Do you come out to small places like Enslow?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

Which paella is most popular?

That depends on who’s coming. Chicken and mixed paellas tend to go first, alongside seafood and vegetable or vegan pans.

What do you need at the venue?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

Can we choose the seafood?

We will suggest seafood to suit your menu and budget. Premium shellfish can be added.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook it there and then, then serve straight from the pan.

Is the paella gluten-free?

Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

How we price paella catering

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • The number of people
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Details that help

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The venue or postcode
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Anything your venue supplies

To get a price, use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we will put together a menu and price.
