Wedding paella catering for Datchet events

Wedding paella catering in Datchet, made fresh on the day

We plan the wedding menu with you, course by course, to suit your guests, venue and budget. We are often asked to cater rustic barn weddings and garden and marquee weddings, with Spanish desserts, evening paella and canapé tapas.

In Datchet, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a lovely, personal choice. Paella cooked on the lawn suits that perfectly. Let us know about access for the van. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

The menu, dish by dish

Paella wedding breakfast

A choice of paellas, served at the pans or to the tables.

Desserts

Spanish desserts from churros to crema catalana, or your cake as dessert.

Step by step

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. Golden-hour photos in Datchet at midsummer come around 9:25pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. We check availability for your date.
  2. You choose canapés, tapas, paellas and desserts.
  3. We confirm everything with your venue.
  4. The pans cook while guests enjoy the drinks.
  5. We serve and clear our cooking area.

Preparing for the day

  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload

Planning help

Diets, allergies and planning

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one
  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers
  • Tell us about suppliers who need feeding
  • Choose pan-side or table service

After service, we pack down our cooking area; staff you’ve booked stay as agreed.

Finish with Spanish desserts or your cake.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Plated wedding meals need a kitchen and more staff. Paella needs a level, ventilated spot and permission, and feels more relaxed. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Why book with us

  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Fast service from the pan
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them

Planners, venues and businesses

Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so everyone eats promptly. Let us know how long the food break is.

Prices and what affects them

There are no hidden charges: the price is based on:

  • Timings and hours
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Distance and access to the venue

Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before booking.

Details that help

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • The address or venue name
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • The courses you’d like

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just use our quote form.

Should I cook it myself?

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Questions from Datchet

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

How far is Datchet from London?

Roughly 21 miles from the centre of London.

Do you do canapés and evening food too?

We can. We can do canapés, tapas, the wedding breakfast, evening food and desserts.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

What if photos overrun?

We plan for it. The rice goes in at the last sensible moment, so it is served at its best.

Can paella feel formal?

With the right presentation, it feels special: canapés, tapas, crockery and table service.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.

How many paellas should we have?

Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
