What affects the price in Yaverland
Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:
- The number of people
- Starters, canapés and desserts
- How many staff you need
- Travel, parking and access
There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.
Details that help
You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:
- The courses you’d like
- Anything your venue supplies
- A photo of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
- The date and time of the event
Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.
DIY paella versus live catering
Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.
Why live cooking beats a buffet
Nibbles fill a gap. Tapas are a real course. Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

After a ceremony at a church such as St John the Baptist Church, canapé tapas with the drinks keep guests happy during photos. Guests travelling by rail: Brading station is about 1 mile away. With the sea within about a mile, seafood tapas such as gambas al ajillo are a natural choice.
We cater events across the PO36 postcode area and the streets around it. Diets, allergies and planning
Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because every paella has its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:
- Separate seafood dishes from the rest
- Widen the selection for a tapas-only menu
- Book staff to carry canapés round
- Pair tapas with sangria, cava or sherry
Canapés go round with the drinks.
Waiting staff for canapés.
Yaverland questions
We’re having a ceremony at St John the Baptist Church: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
Can you cook near the sea around Yaverland?
Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.
Do you cover Yaverland?
Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Yaverland is within our area and the rest of the Isle of Wight. To check your date, use our quote form.
How much does tapas catering cost in Yaverland?
The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.
Is halal food available?
Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.
Do we need staff for canapés?
Staff make canapés work, and we can provide them.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.
Are the tapas served hot?
Hot tapas are finished on site.
