How our tapas catering works in Ware
Tapas and paella go hand in hand, served while the paella cooks, but they’re great on their own. Typical bookings include evening grazing and anniversary parties, with Manchego with membrillo, Serrano ham and patatas bravas.
Near Ware, tapas and sangria suit a garden or field party. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.
Planning the cooking area
Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We need:
- Parking near the venue
- Venue approval for outside catering
- A spot for our serving station
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

These details help us quote quickly:
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

How it works
Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. Your guests will smell it before they see it. A summer drinks reception in Ware has daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:00pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:50pm, are better indoors.

DIY paella versus live catering
Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Questions from Ware
Is Ware close to London?
Roughly 60 miles from the centre of London.
Is Ware too small for live paella?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.
Can you do sangria?
We can make sangria, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.
What do you need at the venue?
Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a photo.
Is halal food available?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we’ll cook a separate pan.
When do you arrive?
We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan a pan with them in mind.
Do you do tapas on their own?
Absolutely, for receptions, parties and evening food.
