Tapas catering for Longstock events

Tapas catering for your event in Longstock

Tapas are sharing food, made for conversation. We serve them in two ways: canapés carried round while guests mingle, or table tapas set down to share. Typical bookings include sharing tapas starters and canapés with welcome drinks, with croquetas, Manchego with membrillo and padrón peppers.

Near Longstock, tapas suit gardens, barns and marquees. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Planners, venues and businesses

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

How the day works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. Sunset in Longstock is around 9:25pm in June, so canapés can go round outdoors on a summer evening.

  1. Send us the date, venue, numbers and serving style.
  2. We put together a tapas selection and a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up and finish the hot tapas on site.
  4. Canapés go round with the drinks, or table tapas go out to share.
  5. We pack down when service ends.

Preparing for the day

  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable

Planning help

What tapas catering costs

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • The paellas you choose
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Timings and hours
  • Travel, parking and access

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Where the event is
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Longstock: your questions answered

Do you come out to small places like Longstock?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Could we have live paella in Longstock Park?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Do you have vegetarian tapas?

Many tapas are naturally vegetarian, like tortilla and padrón peppers. Each dish is labelled.

When do you arrive?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We’ll agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We’ll make a plan B with you.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, on request. Proper crockery or quality disposables are available.

How much paella per person?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Let us know about any other food. Our guide to portions explains more.

Is tapas catering available separately?

Of course. Tapas can be booked without paella.
