Tapas catering in Langney, cooked live

For standing receptions, canapés work best; for seated meals, table tapas. Many events have both. On the menu are padrón peppers, gambas al ajillo and croquetas, and we’re regularly asked to cater birthday and anniversary parties and evening grazing.

Tapas make a party in Langney easy and sociable. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Should I cook it myself?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

How it works

When the rice goes in, it is left alone. That’s what gives paella its separate grains and crispy base. Your guests will smell it before they see it. At midsummer, it is light in Langney until about 9:15pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:00pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:55pm, are better indoors.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You choose canapés, table tapas or both.
  3. We set up on arrival.
  4. Hot and cold tapas are served.
  5. Afterwards, we clear up.

Before we arrive

  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Plan cover in case of rain

Prices and what affects them

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • Guest numbers
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

What to tell us

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Where the event is
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field

Getting a quote is simple: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll send a clear, itemised quote and a suggested menu.

Your questions about tapas catering in Langney

Can you cook in Princes Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

We are having a ceremony at St. Richard: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Can you do sangria?

We can make sangria, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.

What does tapas catering cost?

Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Do you do tapas on their own?

Of course. Tapas can be booked without paella.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria, yes, plus bar staff for your own drinks.

Will there be enough food?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

How much space do you need?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
