How our tapas catering works in Clapham Park

The best spreads mix hot and cold: Manchego, Serrano ham and olives alongside patatas bravas, croquetas and gambas al ajillo. Popular choices include padrón peppers, tortilla española and patatas bravas, and we are regularly asked to cater sharing boards for evening guests and tapas before paella.

Tapas work well for receptions and parties in Clapham Park, indoors or out. Tell us about access and parking. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, not reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

What tapas catering costs

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • The number of people
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

Details that help

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The address or venue name

Still deciding on the menu? That’s fine: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. Start when you’re ready: use our quote form.

FAQs for Clapham Park

Is parking a problem for events in Clapham Park?

It can be, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. We will plan unloading around it.

We’re having a ceremony at Church of the Holy Spirit: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

How much is live paella catering?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Is halal food available?

We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we’ll cook a separate pan.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We will make a plan B with you.

Do you do tapas on their own?

Absolutely, for receptions, parties and evening food.

Paella compared with other options

Tapas can be a starter, a reception or the whole meal, so they fit most plans. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Before you choose a spot

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • Access to unload near the serving area
  • A spot for our serving station
  • Room on tables for sharing dishes

Clapham Park is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking can be tight: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate
  • Make sure dishes are labelled
  • Check diets in advance
  • Canapés need staff to serve

Each dish is labelled.

Waiting staff for canapés.

How the day works

On the day, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. At midsummer, it’s light in Clapham Park until about 9:20pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. By late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We suggest a selection and a quote.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. We serve canapés or table tapas.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
