Tapas catering in Brighton and Hove, cooked live

Many classic tapas are naturally vegetarian, such as tortilla, bravas and padrón peppers, and some can be gluten-free. For canapés with welcome drinks and sharing tapas starters, we can cook croquetas, Manchego with membrillo and tortilla española and more.

Tapas work for parties and receptions in Brighton and Hove. Hot tapas need a spot to finish them. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it’s ready.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Guest numbers
  • How long we are needed on site

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Is live paella right for your event?

Plated starters need a kitchen. Table tapas are shared and relaxed. Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We’ll send you a quote.

Your questions about tapas catering in Brighton and Hove

How far is Brighton and Hove from London?

Roughly 46 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Holy Cross Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

Who clears up?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes, always. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, where your guests can watch.

Can you do sangria?

We can make sangria, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.

Do you supply canapé staff?

Yes, if you want them. Canapés need staff to carry them round.

How the day works

Your timings come first. If things run behind, we hold the paella at the right stage so it’s still served fresh. Evening receptions in Brighton and Hove stay light until about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so canapés can go round outdoors on a summer evening.

  1. We check your date.
  2. You pick the style.
  3. We arrive and set up our station.
  4. Hot and cold tapas are served.
  5. We clear away at the end.

Getting ready for the day

  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
