Paella party catering for Hove events

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Paella party catering in Hove, cooked live

Paella is made for relaxed parties: served from the pan, shared and enjoyed, without any fuss. Typical bookings include retirement celebrations and anniversaries and engagement parties, with seafood paella, vegetable paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

In Hove, home and the local hall are popular party venues. Live paella works at both, given some outdoor or ventilated space. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Let the neighbours know
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Add a diet question to the invitation
  • Have bins ready

Kids are fascinated by the huge pans, at a safe distance.

Sangria sets the mood.

Perfect for your party in Hove

One big dish is simpler than lots of small ones.

Live paella suits almost any gathering. People in Hove book us for occasions like:

  • Birthday parties
  • Summer garden parties
  • Naming days and christenings
  • Engagement and anniversary parties

Parks such as St. Ann's Well Gardens generally need permission for cooking, so a garden or hired venue is frequently easier.

What affects the price in Hove

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • How many courses
  • How many guests are eating
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Getting an accurate quote

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • The courses you’d like
  • What the venue already provides
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Diets and allergies you know about

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you’re ready, use our quote form.

Space, weather and the venue

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Send a photo of the garden so we can check

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

Party venues around Hove

Hove is about 2 miles west of Brighton, in Brighton and Hove. From the centre of Hove to the outskirts, we offer the same service: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. We cover 30 places in Brighton and Hove.

Nearby historic houses include Preston Manor & Gardens (1.3 miles north-east) and Royal Pavilion (1.6 miles east). If you are hiring a historic venue for a big birthday, check its rules on outside caterers first. Christenings and naming days frequently start at a local church such as Holy Trinity Church, with a paella lunch at home or in a hall afterwards. The South Downs National Park is within about 7 miles of Hove, so a garden party here comes with a lovely backdrop. The coast is within about 2 miles, so seafood paella often features, and we always plan for wind.

Anywhere in BN3, BN1 and BN52, we can cook for your guests. Local streets include Farm Road, York Road and Aymer Road; a party at home on any of them works well with live paella. Step by step

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you can enjoy your party. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. At midsummer, it is light in Hove until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. Send us your date, address and numbers.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a quote.
  3. We set up before guests arrive.
  4. The paella cooks while your guests chat.
  5. We serve from the pan and pack down.

Planning help

Hove: your questions answered

Can you cook near the sea around Hove?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.

Is Hove close to London?

Roughly 46 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

Can you bring crockery?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we’ll quote for the rest.

Who clears up?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Do you cater for children?

Most children enjoy paella, particularly a simple chicken pan. Let us know numbers and ages.

Can you cook in the rain?

We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We plan for rain with you in advance.

How far ahead should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.
