Live paella party catering in Deadwater

About our paella party catering in Deadwater

A paella party works in most gardens, as long as there’s a flat spot clear of fences and branches. Send us a photo if you’re unsure. We’re often asked to cater naming days and christenings and street parties and neighbourhood get-togethers, serving churros, seafood paella and mixed paella.

For a party in Deadwater, your garden is frequently the best venue. Tell us about access and parking, and we’ll bring everything else. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Give separate numbers for children
  • Add a diet question to the invitation
  • Have enough chairs for most guests
  • Have cover ready for a shower

The cooking area stays tidy and safe, with a clear space around the burners.

Sangria sets the mood.

Organising for someone else?

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Before you choose a spot

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but a few things matter:

  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • A picture of the garden helps us check the space

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we offer

  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Mixed paella
  • Churros
  • Paella Valenciana
  • Seafood paella
  • Vegetable paella
  • Tapas

How the day works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. Sunset in Deadwater is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June. After dark, the cooking area needs good lighting.

  1. Send us your date, address and numbers.
  2. You get a menu and a quote.
  3. We set up before guests arrive.
  4. Guests watch the paella cook.
  5. We serve from the pan and pack down.

How to prepare

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Deadwater is about 1 mile east of Bordon, in Hampshire. Anywhere in GU35, we can cook for your guests. Deadwater is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire we cover. Our events stretch from Deadwater to Guildford (15 miles away).

Christenings and naming days frequently start at a local church such as St Mark's Sacred Church, with a paella lunch at home or in a hall afterwards. The Surrey Hills National Landscape is within about 6 miles of Deadwater, so many gardens around here have a great outlook.

Paella party catering in GU35 is planned around your venue and your guests. Local streets include Alma Road, Varna Road and Rowan Road; a party at home on any of them works well with live paella. Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

What affects the price in Deadwater

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • How many staff you need
  • How many courses
  • Your choice of paellas
  • Timings and hours

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before booking.

What we need to know

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we’re available that day.

Questions from Deadwater

We’re having a ceremony at St Mark's Sacred Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How far is Deadwater from London?

Roughly 42 miles from the centre of London.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in its own pan.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes. A simple chicken paella is usually popular with children. Include children in your numbers.

Will the neighbours notice?

Gas cooking means steam and a good smell, not much smoke. The smell is normally the best advert for the party.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Can you cook indoors?

Typically we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.

Is it really cooked live?

Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
