Live paella or other catering?

A buffet takes hours to prepare and leaves food sitting out. Paella is cooked fresh and served hot. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

What you get with us

  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts

Working with your venue

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Step by step

When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That is what gives paella its separate grains and crispy base. The smell normally draws people over. At midsummer, it’s light in Blackwater until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:10pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. Tell us when and where, and how many.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a quote.
  3. We set up before guests arrive.
  4. Guests watch the paella cook.
  5. We serve, then clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

Before you choose a spot

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • Somewhere close to park and unload

For somewhere as remote as Blackwater, early notice helps us plan the trip.

Dietary needs and planning tips

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Keep children and pets away from the burners
  • Put out bins for general waste and recycling
  • Add a diet question to the invitation
  • Warn the neighbours

The cooking area stays tidy and safe, with space kept clear around the burners.

Sangria sets the mood, with an alcohol-free version for drivers and children.
