Paella catering near Totland
Paella catering in Totland, made fresh on the day
Live paella works almost anywhere with a level, ventilated spot: gardens, marquees, barns, courtyards and festival fields. For leaving dos and retirements and company summer parties, we will put together a menu of black rice, chicken and chorizo paella and paella Valenciana for your guests.
In a smaller place like Totland, a garden party is frequently the simplest option: no venue hire, and nobody stuck cooking. Let us know about access to the house. You’ll know exactly what’s included before booking: the menu, the staff and any extras.

How it works
We get there well before serving, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. Around midsummer it stays light in Totland until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:05pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
- Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
- A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
- On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
- We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Planning help
Diets, allergies and planning
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:
- Mention any other courses or food
- Put allergy details in writing
- Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
- Request clear labels at the serving table
The rice takes about 20 minutes once it goes in, so we time it carefully. If plans change, tell us and we’ll adjust.
Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or serve your own cake.
DIY paella versus live catering
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.
About the dishes
Paella Valenciana
The original paella from Valencia is a countryside dish of chicken and vegetables, not seafood. It’s frequently the most popular pan at an event.
Black rice
Black rice looks dramatic and tastes of the sea.
Questions from Totland
We are having a ceremony at Christ Church: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
Can you cook near the sea around Totland?
Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.
Are premium seafood options available?
Seafood choices are agreed when we plan the menu.
Can you cook halal paella?
We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and it is cooked separately.
Which paellas suit our guests?
Most events choose two or three: a mixed or chicken paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Our menu lists the options.
Do you clear up afterwards?
Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.
How much does paella catering cost in Totland?
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a price.
Which areas do you serve?
We cater across London and the South East, including the Isle of Wight. Find your area.

What else we do in Totland
Organising for someone else?
Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.
Is live paella right for your event?
Next to a hog roast or barbecue, paella makes vegetarian, vegan and halal guests easier to cater for, because each paella has its own pan. It’s served quickly from the pan, so queues move. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.
Why choose Love Paella in Totland
- Live cooking, not reheated food
- Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
- Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
- A clear, itemised quote

Space, weather and the venue
Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
- The venue’s permission for live cooking
Totland is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we will plan the journey.
If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think.

How we price paella catering
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:
- How many courses
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- Travel, parking and access
Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.
Details that help
You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
- The date and rough timings
- A picture of where we’d cook
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
Still deciding on the menu? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will suggest a menu. To start, fill in our quote form.
