Your questions about paella catering in The Warren
What’s the nearest station to The Warren for guests?
The Warren has its own station: Martins Heron station.
How far is The Warren from London?
About 28 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.
How many paellas should we have?
Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.
How long do you need on site?
We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
Can paella be the only main course?
Paella is a meal in itself. Tapas and desserts can be added if you like.
What if the weather’s bad?
Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We will talk it through before the day.
Is live paella good for a large crowd?
It is ideal. Large pans and fast service from the pan make it well suited to crowds.
Is halal food available?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we’ll cook a separate pan.
Paella compared with other options
Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.
Why us?
- Paella cooked from scratch on site
- Waiting staff and crockery on request
- Real theatre, not just catering
- Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks

Dishes our guests love
Mixed paella
Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together.
Black rice
Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, and is typically served with alioli. It’s a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Planning for every diet
Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:
- Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan
- Confirm allergies by email
- Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
- Request clear labels at the serving table
You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We arrive in good time, set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.
Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further.
What affects the price in The Warren
Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:
- How many courses
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- Parking and unloading
- Your choice of paellas
When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.
What we need to know
Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:
- The courses you’d like
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
- A photo of the space, if you can
- Where the event is
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you are ready, use our quote form.
How the day works
A typical event goes like this: we arrive, set up and start cooking, your guests watch the rice cook, and it is served hot from the pan when you are ready to eat. In The Warren, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- Send us your date, numbers and venue.
- We plan a menu that covers every diet.
- We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
- The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
- Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.
Before we arrive
- Tell us where to park and unload
- Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
- Give us a contact for the day
