Paella catering in Studdal, cooked live

Paella is generous food: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It turns a meal into an occasion. On the menu are paella Valenciana, mixed paella and vegetable paella, and typical bookings are for birthday celebrations and retirement celebrations.

Somewhere like Studdal, a field or garden is often the perfect setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. We serve straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and service is quick once it’s ready.

The process

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. In Studdal, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The traditional pan has chicken, flat green beans and butter beans.

Black rice

Black rice looks dramatic and tastes of the sea.

Studdal: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at East Studdal Church Hall?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Is Studdal too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Where do you cater?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Studdal.

Do you bring everything you need?

We bring the pans, burners and ingredients. You provide a suitable spot and access.

How do you work out quantities?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Let us know about any other food. See how much paella per person.

Do you cater for young children?

Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.

Is halal food available?

We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we will cook a separate pan.

How much does paella catering cost in Studdal?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

Planners, venues and businesses

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

How to compare caterers

What paella catering costs

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • The number of people
  • Whether you need crockery
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

What to tell us

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Diets and allergies you know about

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.

Before you choose a spot

Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Level ground for the pans and burners

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is ready all at once, so everyone eats together. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

Why us?

  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • Real theatre, not just catering
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
  • No hidden extras in your quote
