Paella catering for North Stoke events

How our paella catering works in North Stoke

A single cooking set-up can feed a crowd, there is very little waste, and the food arrives hot. That is why it works for so many events. Typical bookings include fairs, fêtes and festivals and family celebrations and christenings, with vegan paella, seafood paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

For a rural spot like North Stoke, the countryside is part of the appeal: a giant pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Tell us about access and the ground. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

How we price paella catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • How many courses
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Waiting and bar staff

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • Where the event is
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • A picture of where we’d cook

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. To send your details, fill in our quote form.

Dietary needs and planning tips

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Tell us what else is being served
  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down

Once the rice is in, it needs about 20 minutes, so we start it at the right moment for your event. If timings shift, we adapt.

Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.

How it works

Watching it cook is half the fun. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook while your guests chat. Evenings in North Stoke stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Getting ready for the day

  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area

What’s the nearest station to North Stoke for guests?

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.

It is. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.

Who clears up?

Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.

Do you do vegan paella?

Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

Working with your venue

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in North Stoke? Paella is quick to serve to a crowd and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Planning the cooking area

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Somewhere close to park and unload

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think before booking.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Is live paella right for your event?

Next to a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, because each paella has its own pan. Service from the pan keeps queues moving. The cost per head typically falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.
