Paella catering around Ninfield
Ninfield is about 3 miles north-west of Bexhill-on-Sea, in East Sussex. Whether your event is in the middle of Ninfield or on the outskirts, paella catering works the same way: paella cooked live, every diet catered for and a clear quote. We cover 289 places across East Sussex, from the larger towns to small villages. Our events stretch from Ninfield to Brighton (about 24 miles away).
If you are celebrating after a service at a church like The Parish Church of St Mary, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well. Parks such as Ashburnham Park generally need the owner’s permission for cooking, so ask before you plan a party there. Ninfield is within about 8 miles of the High Weald National Landscape, a lovely setting for an outdoor event. Check your venue’s rules on vehicles and cooking.
This part of East Sussex takes in TN33, and we can cater your event anywhere in it. We can cater an event on streets such as High Street, Moons Hill and The Green. With the B2095 close by, Ninfield is easy for us to reach for your event. Close by, we cover events in Russell's Green (1 mile south), Hooe Common (1 mile south), Lunsford's Cross (1 mile south-east), Catsfield (1 mile north-east) and Watermill (2 miles south-east). Larger places within reach include Eastbourne (9 miles south-west), Hastings (6 miles east), Bexhill-on-Sea (3 miles south-east), Hailsham (7 miles west), St Leonards (6 miles east) and Uckfield (15 miles west).
A little further out are Bexhill Hospital (3.5 miles south-east) and Herstmonceux Castle (3.8 miles west). Green spaces nearby include Senlac Hill and Gillham Wood.
How our paella catering works in Ninfield
A couple of different pans covers everyone: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Each is cooked separately. Popular choices include vegetable paella, vegan paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and we are frequently booked for garden parties and summer barbecues and weddings and evening receptions.
In a small place like Ninfield, events are usually in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. We plan the timings around your day, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

How it works
When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. In Ninfield, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- We start with a few details about your event.
- We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
- We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
- We cook live on the day while guests watch.
- It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.
Before we arrive
- Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
- Check the venue allows live cooking
- Plan cover in case of rain

What’s in the pans
Black rice
Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.
Paella Valenciana
Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, not seafood. It’s a favourite with guests who do not eat fish.

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.
What’s the nearest station to Ninfield for guests?
The closest is Crowhurst station, roughly 3.5 miles away.
What do you need at the venue?
Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a photo if you’re not sure.
What about pudding?
We do. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices, or you can serve your own cake.
Can you cook halal paella?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we will cook a separate pan.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
Which areas do you serve?
London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Ninfield.
Do you provide plates and cutlery?
We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we’ll include the rest in the quote.

How we price paella catering
These are the factors that matter most:
- How long we are needed on site
- Plates, cutlery and glassware
- How many guests are eating
- Your choice of paellas
There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.
What to tell us
For a quote, it helps to have:
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
- What the venue already provides
- Which courses you have in mind
- A picture of where we’d cook
We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, fill in our quote form.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
Planning for every diet
We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:
- Mention any other courses or food
- Add a dietary question to your invitations
- Give us separate numbers for children
- Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
After service, we pack down our cooking area.
Bread, salad and lemon go well alongside and suit guests who are not big rice eaters.
- Cooked live in giant pans at your event
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
- Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
- Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
