Paella catering in Nag's Head

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Give us separate numbers for children

Paella is best eaten as soon as it’s ready, so we plan service for when guests are ready to eat.

We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.

Paella catering for your event in Nag's Head

You can keep it simple or build a full menu: just paella, or paella with tapas, desserts and drinks. We will recommend what fits your event. For retirement and leaving parties and birthday celebrations, we can cook mixed paella, black rice and chicken and chorizo paella for your guests.

Gardens in London can be narrow, but a level spot away from fences and trees is typically all we need. In Nag's Head, the bigger question is parking near the house or venue. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, not reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, for guests who want a bit of everything.

Seafood paella

The secret is a well-made seafood stock. Shellfish goes in towards the end so it stays tender.

What happens on the day

Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell normally draws people over. Around midsummer it stays light in Nag's Head until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

How to compare caterers

Nag's Head: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to Nag's Head for guests?

Drayton Park station, about 0.6 miles south-east of the centre.

Can you cook in Whittington Park?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Do you offer halal options?

We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we will cook a separate pan.

Which paellas do you recommend?

Two or three is usual: a mixed or chicken paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Our menu lists the options.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

Is paella a full meal?

It can be. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main, and tapas or dessert can be added.

What happens with live paella?

We arrive with pans, burners and ingredients, cook in front of your guests, and serve at the time you want.

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Nag's Head? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

Paella compared with other options

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is ready all at once, so everyone eats together. There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

What you get with us
