FAQs for Mayfair

Can you cater a reception after a service at Grosvenor Chapel?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Which station should guests use for Mayfair?

Mayfair has its own station: Bond Street station.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria can be added, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, and it’s a popular combination. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

How much is live paella catering?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

How many different paellas?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We will suggest a split based on your guests.

Paella catering for your event in Mayfair

There’s something generous about paella: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It makes the food an event in itself. We are often asked to cater fairs, fêtes and festivals and big birthdays, serving vegetable paella, seafood paella and paella Valenciana.

From a terraced garden to a hired hall, events in Mayfair come in all shapes. Tell us how close we can park and about any steps. Your quote spells out exactly what’s included: the menu, the staff and any extras, with no surprises on the day.

Occasions we cook for in Mayfair

Outdoor events and live paella go together: cooked outside, served hot and shared.

Big or small, live paella works well. Common bookings include:

  • Big birthdays
  • Office lunches and staff parties
  • Weddings, from canapés to evening food
  • Leaving dos and retirements

For a christening or wedding at a church such as Grosvenor Chapel, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone.

What your quote should include

  • What the caterer needs from your venue
  • When payment is due
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • The wet-weather plan

Choosing a paella caterer

For event organisers in Mayfair

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we’ll tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

A closer look at the menu

Seafood paella

A rich seafood stock with prawns, mussels and squid, finished with lemon wedges. It’s usually the most photographed pan.

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, for guests who want a bit of everything.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Plated meals need a kitchen and a bigger team. Live paella needs only a level, ventilated spot and permission to cook, and gives guests something to watch. Larger events normally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

Why Mayfair hosts choose us

  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • Catering across Greater London, including Mayfair
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Fast service from the pan

Planning for every diet

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Ensure each pan is labelled
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Mention any other courses or food

After service, we pack down our cooking area.

Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or serve your own cake.

The process

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. Evenings in Mayfair stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

How to prepare

  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking

  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed

As a London location, Mayfair is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.
