Paella catering in Lee Common

Paella catering for your event in Lee Common

There is something generous about paella: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It makes the food an event in itself. We’re frequently asked to cater community events and fairs and retirement and leaving parties, with chicken and chorizo paella, vegan paella and paella Valenciana.

In a hamlet or village like Lee Common, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

Should I cook it myself?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Perfect for your event in Lee Common

Lee Common: your questions answered

Do you come out to small places like Lee Common?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

We are having a ceremony at St Mary's: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you cater for young children?

Of course. A simple chicken paella is usually popular with children. Tell us how many are coming.

When do you arrive?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance so the paella is ready when you want it.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

How much paella per person?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.

Can you cook halal paella?

We can. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and it’s cooked separately.

Which paellas do you recommend?

It depends on your guests. A chicken or mixed paella is generally the most popular, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.

Dishes our guests love

Seafood paella

A rich seafood stock with prawns, mussels and squid, cooked until the rice is golden. It is the pan people photograph.

Mixed paella

Chicken and seafood together, for guests who want a bit of everything.

Space, weather and the venue

If a space is not suitable, we will tell you, and help find another spot. The main points are:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

How it works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. Planning an evening event in Lee Common? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:25pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

How we price paella catering

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • The number of people
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Waiting and bar staff

Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you only pay for what you want.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • The address or venue name
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Getting a quote is simple: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send a clear, itemised quote and a suggested menu.

Why choose live paella in Lee Common?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, because each paella has its own pan. Service from the pan keeps queues moving. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Why book with us

  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
  • Events in Lee Common and across Buckinghamshire
