Paella catering for your event in Great Western Park

Paella is generous food: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It makes the food an event in itself. For company summer parties and naming days and family parties, we can cook paella Valenciana, seafood paella and mixed paella and more.

In a smaller place like Great Western Park, a garden party is often the simplest option: no hire fees, and live paella feeds everyone without anyone stuck in the kitchen. Let us know about access to the house. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

Planners, venues and businesses

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.

How we price paella catering

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • How many guests are eating

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • A photo of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The date and time of the event
  • The courses you’d like

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, use our quote form.

How the day works

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Evenings in Great Western Park stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Should I cook it myself?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

About the dishes

Vegetable and vegan paella

Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a paella that stands on its own. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron, and it is a crowd-pleaser.

Why choose paella catering in Great Western Park?

Paella is quick to serve and suits mixed diets, so it suits all kinds of occasions. It gives people something to gather round, too.

In Great Western Park and nearby, we cater all sorts of events. Some of the most common are:

  • Company summer parties
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Weddings and evening receptions
  • Retirement and leaving parties

If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St Matthew, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well.

How to compare caterers

Great Western Park: your questions answered

How far is Great Western Park from London?

Roughly 51 miles from the centre of London.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Matthew?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which paellas do you recommend?

Most events choose two or three: a mixed or chicken paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Our menu lists the options.

Who clears up?

We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Mostly outside or under an open cover, since the burners are gas. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.

How long do you need on site?

We get there in good time to set up. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Of course. Children frequently love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.

How many different paellas?

Most events have two or three: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.

Planning the cooking area

Before the day, we’ll agree where we cook. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

Paella compared with other options

A cold buffet is simple but has no theatre, and the food sits out. Paella is cooked in front of your guests and served hot. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Why Great Western Park hosts choose us

  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • Live cooking, not reheated food
