Paella catering in Farley Hill

For planners, venues and organisers

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Farley Hill? Paella is quick to serve to a crowd and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

How our paella catering works in Farley Hill

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Every pan is cooked on its own. We cook vegan paella, paella Valenciana and black rice, and we are frequently booked for office lunches and staff parties and garden parties and summer barbecues.

Somewhere as small as Farley Hill, a garden or field is frequently the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes or long drives and we’ll plan for them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

12 questions to ask before you book

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Request clear labels at the serving table
  • Send allergies to us in writing
  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Tell us how many children are coming

Any staff you book serve and clear, so you can enjoy your guests.

Need plates or staff? We can provide them.

What affects the price in Farley Hill

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Guest numbers
  • Waiting and bar staff

Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Details that help

To check availability and price, we need:

  • The courses you’d like
  • The venue or postcode
  • Expected numbers
  • A picture of where we’d cook

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send a clear, itemised quote.

Is live paella right for your event?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, paella makes vegetarian, vegan and halal guests easier to cater for, thanks to separate pans. It is served quickly from the pan, so queues move. The cost per head generally falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why us?

  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • No hidden extras in your quote

Step by step

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. Around midsummer it stays light in Farley Hill until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. You get a menu and an itemised quote.
  3. Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Let us know the timings for the day

Your questions about paella catering in Farley Hill

We’re having a ceremony at St Eligius: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Could we have live paella in Shepperlands Farm Nature Reserve?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, in front of your guests.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Do you offer halal options?

Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We’ll talk it through before the day.

Do you cook inside?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.
