About our paella catering in Calshot
Paella is generous food: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It makes the food an event in itself. We’re often asked to cater festivals, fairs and school events and office lunches and staff parties, serving paella Valenciana, chicken and chorizo paella and mixed paella.
Somewhere like Calshot, a field or garden is frequently the perfect setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.
Your questions about paella catering in Calshot
Do you come out to small places like Calshot?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.
Can you cook at venues in the New Forest National Park?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.
Can paella be the only main course?
It can be. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main, and tapas or dessert can be added.
Is the paella gluten-free?
A gluten-free pan is no problem. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.
What about pudding?
We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.
Are premium seafood options available?
Seafood choices are agreed when we plan the menu.
Is halal food available?
Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and we will cook a separate pan.
Can the paella be cooked in a hall?
Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.
Space, weather and the venue
No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space before we confirm. In general, we need:
- A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
- Somewhere close to park and unload
- Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What affects the price in Calshot
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:
- Parking and unloading
- The length of service
- Plates, cutlery and glassware
- Your choice of paellas
Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.
Details that help
To speed things up, tell us:
- A photo of the space, if you can
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
- Where the event is
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.
A closer look at the menu
Seafood paella
Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, finished with lemon wedges. It’s generally the most photographed pan.
Paella Valenciana
Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron, and it’s a crowd-pleaser.
Should I cook it myself?
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.
Is live paella right for your event?
Plated meals need a kitchen and a bigger team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission to cook, and gives guests something to watch. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.
