Live paella catering in Stonehills
Paella catering for your event in Stonehills
One cooking area feeds a lot of people, there’s very little waste, and the food is served hot. It is why live paella suits so many kinds of event. We are frequently asked to cater company summer parties and big birthdays, serving seafood paella, mixed paella and chicken and chorizo paella.
Somewhere as small as Stonehills, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, with each paella cooked in its own pan and clearly labelled.
Who books paella catering in Stonehills?
There’s no kitchen needed, so it’s at home in gardens, fields and marquees where plated meals are hard.

Catering for every guest
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:
- Confirm allergies by email
- Mention any other courses or food
- Count adults and children separately
- Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
A short rest after cooking helps, which is when we normally call guests over.
Sangria and bar staff can be added to serve drinks you provide.

Stonehills questions
What about events near the coast?
Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.
Do you cater in the New Forest National Park?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.
Do you cater in Stonehills?
We do. We cook at events in Stonehills and across Hampshire. Tell us your date and we will check availability.
How many different paellas?
Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we will suggest the mix.
How far ahead should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it is short notice, it is worth asking.
Can you supply plates?
We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we’ll include the rest in the quote.
Which paella is most popular?
It depends on your guests. A chicken or mixed paella is usually the most popular, alongside seafood and vegetable or vegan pans.
How long do you need on site?
We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
How it works
We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you can enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first while the paella cooks. In Stonehills, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
- Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
- We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
- Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.
Before we arrive
- Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
- Give us a contact for the day
- Confirm numbers and diets before the day
Getting a price

Planning help
For planners, venues and organisers
If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.
Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.
