Planning for every diet

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Plan seating near the food area
  • Feed crew and volunteers at set times
  • Give traders a single information pack
  • Agree waste arrangements with traders

Our pitch is kept tidy and safe throughout the day.

The City questions

Is The City close to London?

Roughly 35 miles from the centre of London.

Is The City too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Will there be enough food?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a little extra built in. Accurate numbers help.

How much does festival paella catering cost in The City?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Can you supply plates?

We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we will include the rest in the quote.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, where your guests can watch.

Is the paella gluten-free?

Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

Can you trade at our festival or fair?

Send us the event details, dates and pitch information, and we’ll check availability.

Live paella or other catering?

If you want a trader that adds atmosphere, paella is a strong choice. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

It copes with peak times, because it is served from big pans.

We can help if you are planning any of the following:

  • Open days
  • Food and music festivals
  • Feeding crew and volunteers
  • Race days and sports events

If you’re organising a summer fair or fundraiser for a school such as Radnage Church of England Primary School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser.

Comparing caterers

  • How many staff are coming, and for how long
  • The venue requirements
  • Allergen information for each dish

Our caterer checklist

Step by step

Service is quick: we serve straight from the pan, so large groups are fed quickly. When service is finished, we pack down. For an evening event in The City, sunset is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June; after dark, we need a lit pitch.

  1. First, we check the dates.
  2. We agree menu and pitch.
  3. We set up our burners and pans.
  4. Pans are cooking as gates open.
  5. We serve, then clear the pitch at the end.

How to prepare

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather

What festival paella catering costs

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • How many staff you need
  • How long we’re needed on site

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

Details that help

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • The address or venue name
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • What the venue already provides
  • A photo of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.
