About our wedding paella catering in Whitchurch

A wedding paella is food and entertainment at once. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. We are frequently asked to cater food for evening guests and farm and barn venues, with evening paella, table tapas and a paella wedding breakfast.

For a smaller place like Whitchurch, a garden or farm wedding is often the dream. We need level ground and access. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

Why us?

  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Catering across Hampshire, including Whitchurch
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request

How it works

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you’re free to enjoy your wedding. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. In Whitchurch, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is generally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Space, weather and the venue

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but a few things matter:

  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Somewhere close to park and unload

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Common questions in Whitchurch

What’s the nearest station to Whitchurch for guests?

Whitchurch (Hampshire) station, about 0.5 miles north of the centre.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of All Hallows?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Do you work with our venue?

Yes. We will speak to your venue about access and timings.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we take the right care.

Do you do vegan paella?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans.

How many paellas should we have?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.

Do you cover Whitchurch?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Whitchurch and the rest of Hampshire. To check your date, send us your details through our quote form.
