Wedding paella catering in The Moor, cooked live

Your wedding menu is planned with you, course by course, around your guests, your venue and your budget. We cook table tapas, Spanish desserts and canapé tapas, and we’re regularly asked to cater garden and marquee weddings and receptions after an intimate ceremony.

Near The Moor, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Timings are planned around your event, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

FAQs for The Moor

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Laurence: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Is The Moor close to London?

Roughly 41 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

What if the timings change?

We plan for it. We time the rice to the actual running order, so it’s served at its best.

Can you bring crockery?

Yes, on request. Proper crockery or quality disposables are available.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, it is the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

Is paella too casual for a wedding?

It can be as relaxed or as polished as you like, depending on how it is served.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, including Kent. See all areas.

Can we have a tasting?

Ask us about tastings when you get in touch.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • The length of service
  • How many guests are eating
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before booking.

What to tell us

To check availability and price, we need:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A photo of the space, if you can

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: give us the basics about your wedding, and we will suggest a menu. To start, use our quote form.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

How it works

The cooking is part of the entertainment. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook while your guests chat. In The Moor, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:00pm, which means evening paella is generally served in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Preparing for the day

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time

Is live paella right for your wedding?

Hog roasts are popular but tricky for mixed diets. Separate paella pans cover every diet. The cost per head generally falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.
