Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Sandway

Mixed diets are easy at a paella wedding: every paella is cooked separately, so every guest gets a proper hot main. Popular choices include evening paella, table tapas and a paella wedding breakfast, and we are regularly asked to cater vow renewals and civil ceremonies and weddings with a Spanish theme.

There is something special about a country wedding near Sandway, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan access and cover in case of rain. Everything is cooked from scratch at your wedding, never made in advance and reheated, and served the moment it’s ready.

About the dishes

Canapé tapas

Canapés keep guests happy between the ceremony and the meal.

Table tapas

Sharing tapas breaks the ice.

Organising for someone else?

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.

Before you choose a spot

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • A separate open-sided gazebo if the meal is in a marquee

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think.

Sandway: your questions answered

Could we have live paella in Kiln Wood?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Mary's Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

How many different paellas?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Where do you cater?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Sandway.

Who clears up?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

How much does wedding paella catering cost in Sandway?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

What affects the price in Sandway

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Parking and unloading

Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you only pay for what you want.

Getting an accurate quote

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • What the venue already provides

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

Paella compared with other options

If you are weighing up paella against a traditional menu, think about your venue, your guests’ diets and the feel of the day. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

What you get with us

  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • A clear, itemised quote

Step by step

We get there well before serving, unload, set up the burners and prepare the stock. Guests normally gather round to watch while it cooks. For a summer wedding in Sandway, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so an evening paella for evening guests is usually served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Preparing for the day

  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload
  • Let us know the timings for the day

Getting a price

Choosing a paella caterer

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
