How our wedding paella catering works in Sandhurst

Paella suits relaxed, sociable weddings, long tables and garden or barn venues. It feels generous and celebratory. We’re often asked to cater weddings with a Spanish theme and marquee and garden weddings, serving a paella wedding breakfast, canapé tapas and table tapas.

Rural weddings around Sandhurst have a magic of their own, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan for access and a wet-weather cover. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

  • The deadline for final numbers
  • How many staff are coming, and for how long
  • The deposit and payment dates

12 questions to ask before you book

Should I cook it myself?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Working with your venue

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear and itemised. What affects it most:

  • Parking and unloading
  • The number of people
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Whether you need crockery

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

What to tell us

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • The date and time of the event

Getting a quote is simple: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Canapé tapas

Small bites carried round on boards while guests mingle, ideal for the drinks reception.

How it works

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. At midsummer, sunset in Sandhurst is about 9:15pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:45pm in late May and 7:00pm in late September.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely

Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because every paella has its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Give us separate day and evening numbers
  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Connect us with your coordinator

If things run late, and we will adjust the cooking so the paella is served at its best.

Table tapas make a sociable starter.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
