Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Jevington

We plan the wedding menu with you, course by course, to suit your guests, venue and budget. Popular choices include evening paella, table tapas and a paella wedding breakfast, and we’re regularly asked to cater weddings with a Spanish theme and receptions after an intimate ceremony.

Near Jevington, weddings are frequently in fields, barns or gardens. Live paella is made for that: no kitchen, just a level, sheltered spot. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Planning the cooking area

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • A separate open-sided gazebo if the meal is in a marquee

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.

The process

Here’s how the day normally runs: we arrive, set up and start cooking, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it is served hot from the pan at the agreed time. In Jevington, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is normally served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve each course.
  5. We clear our area; staff stay as booked.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Give us a contact for the day

Why live cooking beats a buffet

A buffet can leave food sitting out. Paella is served hot from the pan. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

Jevington questions

Do you cater in the South Downs National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will work to whatever the site needs.

How far is Jevington from London?

Roughly 51 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

When do you arrive?

We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, where your guests can watch.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

What if the timings change?

It happens. We time the rice to the actual running order, so it’s served at its best.

Can you bring crockery?

Yes, if you need them. Tell us what your venue provides and we’ll include the rest in the quote.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
