Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Where we can cook in Jevington
We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:
- Clear information on power, water and waste
- Your trader pack and site rules
- Clearance from tents and gazebos
If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Is live paella right for your event?

Prices and what affects them
Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:
- How long we are needed on site
- How many guests are eating
- Your choice of paellas
- Whether you need crockery
Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.
Details that help
To check availability and price, we need:
- Which courses you have in mind
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
- Diets and allergies you know about

Jevington questions
Do you trade at school fairs around Jevington?
Yes, with the school’s permission. Tell us the date and pitch details.
Can you cook near the sea around Jevington?
Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.
Do you cater in Jevington?
Yes, we do. We cook at events in Jevington and across East Sussex. Send us your date to check availability.
What about pudding?
We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.
Can you supply plates?
We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we will include the rest in the quote.
Who clears up?
We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.
Can you do sangria?
Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

The process
Here’s how the day typically runs: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it is served hot from the pan when you are ready to eat. Summer events in Jevington have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, need a well-lit pitch.
- It starts with your event details and pitch information.
- We confirm our menu, pitch needs and documents.
- We arrive at the agreed time to set up the pitch.
- We cook in front of the crowd and serve from the pan all event.
- At the end, we clear our pitch.
Getting ready for the day
- Have a level space ready for the pans
- Give us your final numbers and diets
- Let us know the timings for the day
