Weddings in East End: venues, ceremonies and travel

East End is about 4 miles north-east of Witney, in Oxfordshire. Whether your wedding is in the middle of East End or on the outskirts, wedding paella catering works the same way: paella cooked live, every diet catered for and a clear quote. East End is one of 443 places in Oxfordshire we cover. You can also see our page for Oxford, about 10 miles away.

Blenheim Farm nearby makes a lovely backdrop for photos. Put the station on your invitation: Combe station is about 1.2 miles away.

Diets, allergies and planning

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP cards
  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Book early for summer Saturdays

Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, usually timed after the first dance.

Canapés during the photos keep hunger at bay.

What we need at the venue

Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Menu ideas

  • Canapé tapas
  • Evening paella
  • Paella wedding breakfast
  • Sangria & bar staff

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

For planners, venues and organisers

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

The process

The cooking is part of the entertainment. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring while your guests chat. At midsummer, sunset in East End is about 9:30pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 9:00pm in late May and 7:10pm in late September.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Common questions in East End

We are having a ceremony at St Mary's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

What’s the nearest station to East End for guests?

Combe station, about 1.2 miles east of the centre.

How many paellas should we have?

Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.

What if our speeches run late?

It happens. We time the rice to the actual running order, so it is ready when you are.

How much is live paella catering?

We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Is the paella gluten-free?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we take the right care.

Can you liaise with the venue coordinator?

Of course. We’ll speak to your venue about access and timings.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.
