Live wedding paella catering in Culmers

How the day works

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. In Culmers, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:00pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is typically served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:50pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan your menu course by course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload

How our wedding paella catering works in Culmers

At a wedding, paella is both the meal and a bit of a show. Guests drift over to watch the pans while the photos are being taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. Popular choices include a paella wedding breakfast, evening paella and table tapas, and typical bookings are for big weddings with every diet and garden and marquee weddings.

There’s something special about a country wedding near Culmers, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan for access and a wet-weather cover. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

Culmers weddings: local tips

Culmers is about 2 miles east of Faversham, in Kent. Across the ME13 area, we can bring the pans to you. Culmers is one of 922 towns and villages in Kent where we cook. We cook right across the region, from Culmers to Canterbury (7 miles away).

For outdoor photos, Blean Woods RSPB Reserve is close by. Put the station on your invitation: Faversham station is about 2.2 miles away. The sea is within about 5 miles, perfect for a seafood paella wedding. Coastal wind needs a sheltered cooking spot.

Here we cover the ME13 postcode area, and we can cater your wedding anywhere in it. Nearby, we also cater weddings in Graveney (1 mile north-east), Goodnestone (1 mile south-west), Broom Street (1 mile north-west), Slutshole (1 mile south-east) and Hernhill (1 mile south-east). Larger places within reach include Ashford (13 miles south), Canterbury (7 miles south-east), Sittingbourne (9 miles west), Whitstable (4 miles north-east), Herne Bay (9 miles east) and Minster (9 miles north-west).

Questions from Culmers

We are having a ceremony at Church of All Saints: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking typically happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cook in Mount Ephraim Gardens?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

What if the weather’s bad?

We cook under cover, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.

Do you offer halal options?

Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in its own pan.

What if our speeches run late?

We adapt. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and time the rice so it is served at its best.

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you’re not sure.

Who clears up?

We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.

Catering for every guest

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Tell us how many evening guests to expect
  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Send us the running order and speech times

The pans are often set up where guests can see them, which makes a lovely backdrop for photos.

A table tapas starter gets everyone sharing.

For event organisers in Culmers

If you’re booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

What we need at the venue

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We need:

  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

What we offer

  • Canapé tapas
  • Paella wedding breakfast
  • Evening paella
  • Sangria & bar staff
  • Table tapas
  • Dessert

Should I cook it myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • The length of service
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • The paellas you choose

Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Details that help

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Where the event is
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Expected numbers

We quote for each event separately, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, fill in our quote form.
