Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Broadwater

At a wedding, paella is both the meal and a bit of a show. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the food arrives hot and plentiful. Typical bookings include receptions after an intimate ceremony and relaxed sharing-style wedding breakfasts, serving Spanish desserts, evening paella and table tapas.

Weddings in a place like Broadwater frequently feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. Paella cooked on the lawn suits that perfectly. Let us know about access for the van. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and a queue moves quickly.

Getting married in Broadwater?

Broadwater is about 1 mile east of Worthing, in West Sussex. From the centre of Broadwater to the outskirts, we offer the same service: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. Broadwater is one of 371 towns and villages in West Sussex where we cook. You can also see our page for Brighton, about 11 miles away.

If you’re marrying at a church near Broadwater, such as St. Mary's Church, a reception in a garden, marquee or hired venue nearby keeps the day flowing: we can be cooking during the photos, so the meal is ready when you arrive. Planning photos in Beach House Park? It is worth checking the park’s rules first. With the coast within about 2 miles, a seafood paella suits a seaside-style wedding. Coastal wind needs a sheltered cooking spot.

Wedding paella catering in BN14 and BN11 is planned around your venue and timings. Streets in the area include Forest Road, Turner Road and Langton Road, and we can cook for a wedding on any of them. If your venue is just outside Broadwater, we also cover Offington (1 mile north-west), Worthing (1 mile west), Salvington (1 mile north-west), East Worthing (1 mile south-east) and Sompting (2 miles east). Further out, we also cater in Bognor Regis (14 miles west), Burgess Hill (14 miles north-east), Littlehampton (7 miles west), Shoreham-by-Sea (5 miles east), Rustington (6 miles west) and Storrington (7 miles north-west).

A little further out are Museum of Sussex Folklore (0.9 miles west) and Old Castle (0.8 miles west). The countryside around Broadwater includes Widewater Lagoon and Steep Down.

  • Local schools include Bohunt School Worthing (under half a mile south) and Thomas A Becket First School (1 mile west)
  • Local pubs include The Thomas a Becket pub (0.8 miles west)

12 questions to ask before booking

Broadwater questions

Can you cook in Beach House Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.

We’re having a ceremony at St. Mary's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.

Where do you cater?

We cater across London and the South East, West Sussex included. See all areas.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Normally we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. Some venues have suitable spaces; we will check with you and the venue.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

How much space do you need?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Can we try the food first?

Mention a tasting in your enquiry, and we will explain how it works.

What wedding paella catering costs

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Guest numbers
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

Larger events generally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Expected numbers
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • The courses you’d like
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and you will get a menu idea and a price. Just fill in our quote form.

Where we can cook in Broadwater

Before the day, we’ll agree where we cook. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Diets, allergies and planning

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To get it right:

  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers
  • Book early for summer Saturdays
  • Introduce us to your venue coordinator
  • Count day and evening guests separately

The pans are often set up where guests can see them, which makes a lovely backdrop for photos.

A table tapas starter gets everyone sharing.

The process

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch as the paella takes shape. In Broadwater, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:05pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is typically served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. First, we check your date.
  2. You choose canapés, tapas, paellas and desserts.
  3. We confirm the plan with your coordinator.
  4. The pans cook while guests enjoy the drinks.
  5. We serve and clear our cooking area.

Before we arrive

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Give us a contact for the day

Planning help

Is live paella right for your wedding?

Food trucks serve one order at a time, which can mean long queues at a wedding. Paella is served quickly to many guests. There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.
