Tapas catering in Sway, made fresh on the day

Tapas and paella go hand in hand, served while the paella cooks, but they’re great on their own. For cocktail parties and tapas with a paella main course, we can cook Serrano ham, tortilla española and Manchego with membrillo for your guests.

In Sway, tapas work at home or in a local hall. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, each in a separate pan and clearly labelled.

  • Canapés need staff to serve
  • Pair tapas with sangria, cava or sherry

Dishes are labelled for diets and allergens.

Sway questions

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Luke's Church?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Which station should guests use for Sway?

Sway has its own station: Sway station.

Are there vegetarian tapas?

Plenty are vegetarian, like tortilla and padrón peppers. Each dish is labelled.

Do you cook tapas on site?

We finish hot dishes on site; cold tapas are laid out as guests arrive.

Can we add drinks?

Sangria and bar staff can be added.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Sway.

Do you do desserts?

Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Tell us what you have in mind when you ask for a quote.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

Step by step

When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. Your guests will smell it before they see it. A summer drinks reception in Sway has daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:10pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:05pm, are better indoors.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. You get a selection and a price.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. We serve canapés or table tapas.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

Before we arrive

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
